Studying Martial Arts in Wudang can be a rewarding experience. Come for a short time, learn the basics, and return home with a renewed vigor in bringing your lifestyle to a healthy balance or become a long-term student and excel in the external and internal styles of Wudang San Feng Lineage.
The methods of practice taught at the Academy are designed to be cultivated throughout the phases of life. It is never too late or too early to start your practice. TaiJi, Qigong, Meditation, Weapon Forms, Empty Hand Forms, Fighting Styles, Daoist Culture, there is something for everyone here at the Wudangshan Daoist Traditional Kungfu Academy.
Training is currently held on the school grounds at the new location. Training continues year round with a typical schedule as follows:
Qi Gong/ Free Training 6:00-7:00 AM
Breakfast 7:30 AM
Morning Training 8:30-11:00 AM
Lunch 11:40 PM
Afternoon Training 3:00-5:00PM
Dinner 5:30 PM
Free Training (Meditation) 7:00-8:30 PM

The Academy has students from all over the world travel and stay at the school as they embark upon their journey training Wudang Martial Arts. This gives the student the opportunity to immerse themselves into the lifestyle and the world of a traditional student. They are able to disconnect from the modern world and focus on their health and balance through practice. The Academy is proud to be able to offer programs periodically that focus on individual styles, like TaiJi 13, and even meditation retreats. We also run regular training that is tailor made for each individual, or group, and their specific goals. Whether coming to focus on relaxing and calming emotional imbalances, learning more about the Daoist culture, advancing your kungfu practice, gaining coordination and flexibility, detoxing the body of bad habits, or any of a multitude of reasons, the Academy has been a beacon for students to find their Way. Registration
The process for registering for training at WDTKA is as follows:
1. Decide planned travel times, duration of training, and type of room preferred. Do as soon as possible, so there is enough time to purchase tickets, register for classes, and apply for a Chinese Visa (if necessary). At least one month in advance is a typical amount of time.
2. Communicate plans with school to check availability and answer any questions you may have.
3. Register for training by making a tuition deposit by following the information below. Half of your total tuition is the standard deposit to reserve your space. If staying for a longer period, you may pay only the first month for the deposit. Wire transfer is the best way to transfer funds. If you wish to prepay the entire course, that is a safe option. Before making transfers please communicate with the school office.
4. Send a copy of the transfer receipt, so we can confirm with the bank, and a copy of the name page of your passport, so we can prepare an invitation letter for the Chinese Visa Application.
5. Apply for Chinese Visa, confirm travel plans.
6. Travel to Wudang, arrive in the academy, and begin your training!
Accommodations
The school have 5 kinds of rooms, which all include air conditioner (which heats and cools) as well has a bathroom (with western toilet). All rooms come with a bed (two in double rooms), a wardrobe, desk, chair, and night stand. Also available is the common room where you can use the free Wi-Fi, drink tea with other students, browse the library, or even catch a movie on the rest day.
Simple rooms do not have a private bathroom or an air conditioning unit. There are shared bathrooms with a shower and Chinese toilet for these rooms.
Tuition
Tuition at the Academy includes training, accommodations, and 3 meals everyday (except breakfast on Thursdays). To encourage longer attendance, the school offers discounts. The longer your stay, the cheaper the cost per day. In one month, typically, a student can learn one or two forms alongside studying Qigong in the mornings. Although each person, as well as each system, is different. If your time is very limited, be sure to communicate that with the school as you are making your travel and study arrangements. Also be mindful of other expenses that you may have to cover during your travel. For example, tickets, visas, toiletries, or even souvenirs.
If possible, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible to reserve your space at the school. Getting started, once your preferred room type and duration of stay are decided upon, we ask that you contact us and reserve your room at least one month in advance. During the summer months, it is best if you reserve your room two months in advance. How to Pay?
The best way to pay for your tuition is to first communicate your time and fee with the Academy and staff and then make a wire transfer to the account listed below. Be sure to have everything clearly planned with the school and use the enter in the exact information for the bank account below. It also is advised to let the school know when you are wire transferring your tuition as well as copying a receipt and emailing it to the Academy for our records and to cross check the arrival of your transfer.
